Steps to Shadow Striping
- Paint wall with flat latex and let it dry for 24 hours
- Mask trim and ceiling edge with masking tape
- Mark wall with chalk - make sure the lines are vertical by using a level
- Apply painters’ tape on the wall - align the tape with the marks and erase marks once tape is in place
- Paint strips between the tape using high-gloss latex paint - use a brush or a roller
- Remove tape before latex is dry to prevent its bonding to the wall

Remarks
- The width of the stripes can be uneven - you can use any pattern you like
- A darker base will typically create more contrast
