Installing a floor in your basement may require leveling the cement floor, if uneven. Do not atempt to level out the grading of the floor as 1/2″ distributed over 4 linear foot is typically required for drainage of condensed moisture.
Installing a basement floor can be extremely easy especially if you are planing to install carpet as subfloors are not required for carpet unless the basement suffers from excessive moisture. For all the other floor covering types it is strongly recommended to install a basement subfloor.
