Property Maintenance Schedule for June
June is the month when home owners typically check some important things around the house such as roof flashing, shingles, sump pump operation, smoke alarm and monoxide detector. Regular property maintenance will definitely spare you of any unwelcome surprises and unnecessary repair bills.
Here are the maintenance things you should do at a minimum:
- Check roof flashing, valleys and vents
- Check for missing and damaged shingles
- Check auxiliary buildings such as sheds for loose or missing components, damage caused by rodents, secureness to base anchors
- Check sump pump, float and discharge line and test overall operation
- Clean range hood filter
- Check exterior wood surfaces for deterioration, missing paint – refinish if necessary
- Test smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors
- Check and reset all the GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) in bathrooms, exterior outlets, electrical panel – if you are not electrically inclined get an electrician to do this
Congratulations, you have completed all the regular property maintenance task for month of June. Now sit down and relax or take your family for a bicycle ride in the nearby park.

For many people the purpose of the garage has shifted from being the place where our cars stay protected from the weather into a place holding piles of "junk" and "stuff".
